Baking in Bangalore

I'm visiting Bangalore this week. We had lunch today at a restaurant near the office. I got my first close up look at a Tandoori oven. It was cool to see naan being made - it only takes a few seconds for the dough to sit on the walls of the oven and it's done! 

August and family visit chez nous

We hadn't seen August since before our wedding. It was great to see her running around and talking up a storm. The Karaoke system we bought in the Philippines was finally put to good use! In this photo, Connie, Anand, and August performed a toe-tapping rendition of "Footloose".

Visiting the Kazungas

I hadn't seen Chikoma Kazunga in over twenty years when I saw him at Mulenga's 40th birthday party in DC (December 2005). Chikoma lives in Dallas and it turned out I was going to be in Dallas on business the first week of January.

Chikoma was kind enough to treat me to dinner after a long day before I caught my flight back to the Bay Area. It was great to meet his wonderful family (in the photo is Ethan, Dawn, Chiko, and Isaiah). It so happens Chikoma is quite the chef and I had fun watching him work his magic in the kitchen while we reminisced about the good old days at Libala.

It's 2006 so I guess it's about time for me to jump on the blog bandwagon. I've been maintaining hughie.com for several years now but now that I'm married with a baby on the way, it's time to focus my efforts on my family web site. Hopefully, blogging will be less time consuming...we'll see! :-)
