Jennifer, Scott and family visit

We celebrated Hayssam's birthday today at Betta and Hayssam's beautiful home in San Mateo. Click here for more photos. Hayssam and Betta have been living in Europe so it's been almost two years since we saw them at Amer's dinner party and our first chance to meet their very cute baby girl Sara.

The girls took the train with their friend Savanna to Palo Alto. We had a lunch picnic at the soccer field across Stanford Mall, followed by ice cream at Gelato Classico in downtown Palo Alto.

Realization

Dani walks up to me today and says, "Daddy, you're a boy!" She then laughs and says "Mommy is a girl, Dani is a girl, Dineo is a girl, Lola [her grandmother] is a girl, Mama [her great-grandmother] is a girl and Daddy is boy!" Yes Dani, I'm outnumbered.

We've firmly believe in teaching the girls early about the value of money - spend now, no money later or save and you have more for bigger things.  Dani now has her own money that she can save or spend  on anything her heart desires.  

Here she is in the car outside of Michael's.  Mommy went for crafts and Dani made her first purchase.  Four Lindt chocolates!  Se said one is for her sister Dineo

I often forget the things Dani says that amuses me.  So from now on, I will try to post.

Dani: Mommy?  What cha doin'?

Mommy: Playing samurai sudoku

Dani: Can I play?

Mommy: Pag big girl ka na, I'll teach you (When you're big, I'll teach you)

Dani: Mommy! Dani pee pee in the potty! Dani big girl na! (Dani is already a big girl!)

Day in the city with Evvia

The girls had a lovely lunch at St Regis hotel with their friend Evvia. The afternoon was spent at the Golden Gate park chasing birds. We finished the day at Evvia's house for some ice cream!
