Where Did All the Bees Go?

Today is Earth Day, and as we pause to celebrate our planet and contemplate how we can save it from ourselves, consider the alarming story of the vanishing bees that's been going around lately. Could this be an early warning of even bigger problems to follow?

The Lives of Others

Michelle and I saw this movie last week. We highly recommend it - not only very entertaining but a rare insightful glimpse into what it's like to live in a police state. A very important and timely insight.

Dani is 11 months today!

Here is Dani with her cousin Hannah playing with the fish at the Children's Discovery Museum in San Jose. She also learned to walk down the (baby) stairs today!

Sharokin in town

Sharokin was in town from San Diego so we got to hang out with him today. We had brunch at Rose's Cafe in San Francisco. Here he is with Dominic and Winston.

Essam and Michelle also joined us.

Block Party

Our cul-de-sac got together Saturday for a pot luck to get to know each other better. It was a fantastic idea - I'm embarrassed to admit I didn't know we had 16 kids in the neighborhood. I guess between school, homework, video games, and sports, you don't see the kids just hanging out much! Click here for more photos.

Hannah's Surprise Visit

Dani got a surprise visit this afternoon from her cousin Hannah.

She caught a cold Friday and looks like she's given it to Daddy.

Dani in South Africa

We just came back from South Africa where Dani met her South African relatives. It was Dani's first flight. On this trip she learned how to stand by herself (below).Below is a picture of the three of us in Sandton at the Nelson Mandela Centre.
