Julie and Nic's Baby Shower

Last Saturday, Camille and Jody threw a baby shower for Nic and Julie at their beautiful home in San Francisco. Nic and Julie are expecting a boy on May 13th - three days before us! Check out photos from the party which include pictures of Masara. 

Tsotsi

Last week Michelle and I saw Tsotsi, the winner of numerous film awards including this year's Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. I recommend everybody see this powerful movie which humanizes South Africa's terrible crime problem and shines a light over the class divide between the township and the suburb.

Our Baby Shower

We had a baby shower today for our baby girl due in six weeks! Thanks everybody for a fun time and your generosity!

Lindsay and Ryan Visit

This weekend we hosted Lindsay and Ryan visiting from the Philippines. Michelle has known Lindsay since she was eleven.

Baby Girl

Here's a 3-D ultrasound of our little girl taken last week. She's due to arrive on May 16th. 

Kauai

We went to Kauai last week as our last escape before the baby gets here. Unfortunately, it rained every day. These weren't sprinkles either but torrential rain. In fact, the day after we got back, a dam broke in the northern part of the island.

So no sun bathing on the beach this time. However, we did enjoy a helicopter tour of the island - our first ride in one of those contraptions. It was so comfy, I dozed off!

Oscar Night at Betta and Hayssam's

Oscar Night 2006 was a lot of fun at Betta and Hayssam's lovely home. The best part was Betta's amazing cooking.

As for the Oscars - Wow! I thought Brokeback Mountain would have a clean sweep!

Freya and Philippe Visit

We had Freya and Philippe over for dinner Saturday night. Here they are performing a moving rendition of "Endless Love". 

Michelle's Birthday

Monday February 6th was Michelle's birthday. I treated her to dinner at Consuelo's (Santana Row, San Jose). She also got a pre-natal massage at Burke Williams Spa which in part explains her glow!
